Federation Day
On Wednesday 19th July, just before term finished, all the children and
staff from the three schools in the St Mary Federation (Brancaster,
Docking and Sedgeford) gathered together on Brancaster Beach for
their latest Federation Day.
As small schools, this is an excellent opportunity for the children to
widen their social circle, and it also gave them the chance to try out a
range of activities including beach volley ball, rounders, sandcastle
building competitions, beach science and Pirate Philosophy.
It was good to see everyone mixing during activities, getting on well
and helping each other.
The beach sports were part of our drive to be active, healthy schools
and the volleyball, in particular, appealed to both our sporty and non-
sporty children and everyone has asked to have more opportunity to
play this again.
The Pirate philosophy was also very popular, with a range of
disasters to be coped with – and some children walking the plank!
strength in each of these children. As Mia, Erin, Sabine, Phoebe, Toby,
Noah, Rhys, Elise and Megan get ready to move on to APHS and Lily,
Brooke and Ashlie move on to Smithdon, their family at Brancaster
School wish them the very best of luck and hope that they continue
being the kind, caring individuals that they all are.
