Chloe Tarbard makes it two
championships in a row!

Heacham Manor Golf Club held the annual Junior Championship on
Monday 7th August.
With good conditions scores from the improving juniors were expected
to be good. The competition was won by 9-year-old Chloe Tarbard
who shot a net 68 to win the championship for the 2nd year in a row
ahead of Warren Bates on net 70 who also secured the best gross score
with a gross 73.
Chloe now plays off 22 coming down 12 shots since last year’s
competition!

Heacham Manor Junior Open

Heacham Manor was very proud to stage their annual Junior Open on
Monday August 14th this year.
The event was sponsored by Ben Burgess, who provided superb
prizes including Footjoy shoes, Cutter and Buck clothing as well as
accessories.
Now in its 7th year the junior open was held in good conditions with
a warm day and only a light breeze. The competition ran in two
formats, for the older and more experienced juniors an 18 hole
stableford took place with an additional prize for the best gross score,
and a 12 hole event also took place for the younger golfers with
unofficial handicaps.
The results in the 12 hole competition were close with only 1 point
separating 1st and 2nd, the winner with 20 points was Jason Partridge
from Middleton Hall who secured victory over Archie Edgson from
Searles who scored 19 points.
The main Stableford event was also a tight contest with some great
scores achieved, the top 10 out of the 28 competitors scoring 37 points
or better with the top 4 all over 40 points. Heacham Manor’s own
Warren Bates shot the best scratch score for the 2nd year in a row with
a gross 73. Runner up in the main event was Poppy Beales from
Middleton Hall on 43 points but the winner on countback also with 43
was George Sommerville from Dereham. George, who as well as
winning new Footjoy golf shoes was also given a year’s free
membership to Heacham Manor.
