BFH Presents: Big C’s Health and Support Awareness Showcase
Kerry Allison
he Bridge for Heroes was delighted to
present an evening showcase at
TCornerstone, King’s Lynn Baptist
Church in March, which was open to the local
community. Joined by representatives from
the Veterans’ Foundation and Norfolk’s
Cancer Charity, Big C, the Bridge Team
hosted an information and education event
where speakers from each organisation took
to the floor.
Helen Taylor, CEO of The Bridge for
Heroes, shared the story of an Armed Forces
veteran, who had come to The Bridge in
desperate need of help. His journey from
initially crossing the threshold at the Bridge
Drop-In Centre to where he is today was
inspiring and illustrative of how the work
carried out at The Bridge makes a difference
to people’s lives.
The Bridge relies on funding from grants
and donations to carry out its valuable work.
One of the organisations that makes this
possible is the Veterans’ Foundation. The
Bridge were pleased to have a representative
from Veterans’ Foundation join them for the
evening to explain how the Foundation raises
funds through its Veterans’ Lottery, which are
then distributed to worthy causes supporting
the Armed Forces community. Montage of the day’s events
