As usual the traditional parade left from College Drive with all

Boyo. When waiting for these floats to arrive at the Heacham Sports
field, I also saw Harley Davidson Riders Club of Great Britain Anglia
region become a float of the parade. The parade was accompanied by
the City of Norwich Brass Band with a street collection in aid of West
Norfolk Mind.
This year results are as follows; Will Wonka and the Chocolate
Factory (Heacham Judo Club) won the best group prize, the Best
Junior Award went to the Rainbows as Pocohontas, the Best Family
Award went to the McGinn Family (Bob the Builder), the Best Adult
Entry went to Dave Curtis and Joshy Chilvers (Grumpy old people)
and the trophy for the best overall float was won by the Guymer family
for Star Wars.
Two of the fire engines from Heacham Fire Station were also part
of the carnival parade. But, one of the fire stations carried a very
special message to the village during the parade and at the carnival
itself. This particular fire engine had a banner across the front of the
fire engine saying, “Thank you, Tracey, we will never forget you.” This
was significant because this year was the first carnival since Tracey
Swann’s death, who loved her village and did everything she could to
help and support her community. She was also the former organiser of
