News from Brancaster School
ongratulations to all those who took part in the cross country history of the Space Race and how space exploration has developed
tournament at Snettisham on 4th November. Our runners had up to the modern day, and even handling real meteorites!
Cto build up a lot of stamina and performed really well, Thrift Class have been very busy recently as always and photos can
including taking first place. This was particularly great as it was the be found on the blog. We have had lots of fun with teeth cleaning and
birthday of our winner, Eliza, on that day - double the reason for us to handwashing experiments, hyacinth growing, firework painting etc
celebrate! We have just started practising the songs for our Christmas carol
A big thank you to Mrs Robinson and the members of our newly re- concert and nativity performance, which this year will be Wriggly
formed PFA, who kindly put on a firework themed party for us after Nativity. This will be on 8th December at 2pm in Brancaster village
school on 4th November. Hot dogs, face painting, pin the spark on the church followed by our Christmas Fair, also in the church. Everyone
fireworks, dancing and pass the parcel . . .we had a great time! Thank welcome.
you very much to all those who helped out.
Y3/4 have been investigating tooth decay. We put hard boiled eggs
in different liquids and left them there for several days, checking on
them and making observations. We used eggs as the shell is like the
enamel on the outside of our teeth. Most of us expected the egg in the
coca cola to show most damage by going black and having holes,
because we knew coca cola is full of sugar and sugar is bad for our
teeth. But we got a surprise! The egg in coca cola got badly stained
and did have a lot of damage to it, but the one in vinegar lost all its
shell and was really disgusting. We decided that as well as cutting
back on sugary drinks, we should put less vinegar on our fish and chips
and make sure we clean and floss our teeth carefully to protect them
from tooth decay.
