First word

Autumn. A wonderful time of year;
the days get a little shorter, the
nights a little longer, and the air a
little cooler. And every year as I put
the October issue together I realise
that this month is perhaps one of
the most interesting in the North
West Norfolk calendar; just turn to
pages 92-93 to see what I mean.
In a month that includes
Trafalgar Day (21st) it is fitting
that we have an article about the
Lord Nelson exhibition at The Hoste Arms in Burnham Market.
Sophie went along recently and you can read her article on page 22.
The 14th-20th October marks National Baking Week, so we all have
an excuse to indulge in some cake and whilst on the subject of food
we celebrate the success of two award winning eateries in Snettisham
on the centre pages.
The last date I’m going to remind you about is Sunday 27th October.
This is the day that we put the clocks back, don’t forget!
Town and Around is printed in Lincolnshire and in early September
we sent Sophie to Horncastle to learn about the print process. Have
you ever wondered how it’s all done? The answers are on page 76.
