Welcome to another full magazine for May which I hope you will
enjoy.
There is a fair amount of business news with Nicholas Godfrey-Cole
celebrating ten years in the town, details of Paul Barnett’s new kitchen
showroom in what was the old job centre, the Wells Deli opening, a
report on progress with the ‘Portas Pilot’ application and some Royal
correspondence for Cafe Blah Blahh!
As she is coming to the end of her year in office Mayor Carol Bower
reviews the achievements of the past twelve months and looks towards
a busy summer in the town. You can see her report on page 48.
My thanks to all of our advertisers who provide the income to print
the magazine, to all of our delivery team and distribution outlets and
Margaret for her help with typing.
Thanks also to everyone who has sent their best wishes for Vivien’s
speedy return to good health; it is much appreciated. We hope that she
will be back with is soon.
As the Jubilee weekend approaches, more and more events seem to
be filling the calendar. The Family Fun Day starts at 10am on 4th June
and culminates in a fireworks display at 10pm, so a busy day for all. I
will do my best to get full details of everything that is planned in the
next edition.
The Summer Guide will be out soon - it is free and lists all that is
on locally. Collect your copy from the TIC, Sainsbury’s or local shops.
