Record £7,300 raised at Hunstanton Christmas Day Swim

hile most of us wait until summer to take a dip in the sea,
over a hundred and eighty swimmers in fancy dress braved
Wthe Wash on Christmas Day watched by thousands of
        spectators.
The annual event is organised by Hunstanton and District Round
Table and Ed Napolitano, he of Soap Box Derby fame, reported that a
not only record amount of £7,300 had been raised, but the club was
applying to the Guinness Book of Records for the largest fancy dress
        swim ever.
Taking on the coldest of all jobs, holding the banner beneath which
all participants must pass, were Matt Hallard and Ben Collins.
As always there were some fantastic costumes including an elephant,
Donald Trump, elves, cops and robbers and the Flintstones but it was
Nigel Chapman who scooped the individual prize dressed as Jesus and
wearing a badge saying ‘It’s my birthday’.
