The Wild run took place in October.
This years popular West Acre Wild charity fund raising 10K run was dedicated to raising funds for the King’s Lynn Night Shelter and a group of organisers met at the Night Shelter to make the presentation.
The run which is takes place each October, was the brain child of farmer Alex Birbec, who is also a keen environmentalist and having cleared a footpath around some of his farmland thought it an ideal route for a race with a difference, having a number of obstacles for runners to attempt as they go round. The run is so popular that next year’s event is already sold out.
These years run raised £3,800 for the Shelter which was accepted by Shelter Director Lucy McKitterick who gave the group a guided tour of the facility.
Race Director, Gary Walker said “It’s great to know that our efforts go to a really good cause and will hopefully make a difference to those who would otherwise be sleeping rough, particularly at this time of year. I’m also sure all those who participate in our event will be pleased to know they have all contributed towards the Shelter”.
