Football
King’s Lynn returned from Oxford City with all three points after in-form Adam Marriott scored a second half goal in a hard earned 1-0 win. Paul Jones made some crucial saves early on but Lynn are now unbeaten in five league games and move up to 14th in the Conference League North, just five points off the play off places.

Manager, Ian Calverhouse, said, “we defended as a unit and really deserved the win today”. The Linnets host 15th placed, Chester FC, on Saturday.
Heacham were beaten 4-0 at Thetford Town in manager, Mark Hunter’s first game in charge. The Brecklanders dominated the Magpies who, despite a a tireless display, found chances few and far between. To make matters worse, Lakenheath’s victory means Heacham are now propping up the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division. Hunter has lined up some key new signings and will definitely want to get something out of the home game against Stowmarket Town on Saturday.
In Division One of the Anglian Combination League, Dersingham Rovers came from behind in a gritty display to beat Yelverton 2-1 with goals from Scott Gray and Sam Peck. Derse remain in 3rd, with the top two guaranteed promotion in what is proving to be a very tight and competitive division.
In Division One of the North West Norfolk League, Heacham Minors Development FC are off the bottom of the table after a 6-1 mauling of West Winch FC. A hat-trick from Matt Skene and a goal apiece for Noah Handley, Hayden Neave and Reece Wells securing all three points.
In Division Two, Ingoldisthorpe Reserves were massive 11-1 victors at West Lynn FC. Four goals from Ryan Young, a hat-trick from Kai Mayes, a brace from John Sapsford and a goal apiece for Kieran Brasted and Brandon Hitchcock keep the ‘Thorpe in 3rd place, although they have games in hand over the top two.

Dersingham Women were involved in a nine goal thriller at Wymondham Town Wolves, losing 5-4. A brace from Eliza McDonald and a goal apiece for Emma Leech and Ann-Marie Harris not quite enough to secure a point.
Heacham FC U18’s secured a 5-0 win at home to Whittlesey U18’s recently and presently sit 6th in the Thurlow Nunn League. They travel to Ely on Wednesday.
Indoor Bowls
Hunstanton Ladies Indoor Bowls team had an impressive 92-24 home win against 2nd placed Fakenham side, Gallow ‘B’, at the weekend, securing maximum points. The ladies won all four rinks, although game of the match saw the trio of Debra Wright, Mo Stokes and Gill MacKenzie come from seven points down to win their rink on the very last play.
Captain, Margaret Dark, said, “very pleasing win that we can take confidence from into our next match”. Hunstanton are up to 3rd in the second tier of the County League.

Steve Matthews was recognised for 25 years service at Searles recently. The Groundsman joined in 2000 as the golf course was being designed. Golf professional, Ray Stocker, thanked Steve for his loyal service, saying, “Steve has been an integral part of the golf club since it was built and continues to impart his vast amount of knowledge and experience onto the younger members of the team”. Steve officially retired on the 28th November, but will remain on the team on a part time basis. He said, “I have enjoyed every moment”. Steve, who has a handicap of 14, has one final objective, to get his name on the Honours Board. He has a great chance this season, as he plays in the Quarter Finals of the Winter Pairs on Friday.
