Potted History of Union Church

As the town of Hunstanton grew during the 19th Century so did the non-conformists. The Le Strange Family, who were Anglicans, owned most of the Land, property agreements prohibited the holding of non-conformists' services on any ground above the high-water mark, so they worshipped God on the beach when the tide was out. In 1869 the Le Strange Family relented, and a piece of Land was released. A year later Union Chapel was built.

Potted History of Hunstanton Concert Band

In the Spring of 1998, a group of musicians responded to an article in The Citizen free newspaper and met in 'Hobos' on Westgate in the north-west Norfolk seaside town of Hunstanton to form The Hunstanton Concert Band.

We rehearse every Friday evening from 7.30 p.m. in the Union Church (opposite the Library) in Hunstanton - and all new musicians are assured of a warm welcome.
