There be dragons!

St George’s Guildhall was taken over by dragons at its first ever Dragon Festival on Saturday 4 November.

Nearly 700 people dropped into the free event that took place on Saturday afternoon and was followed by a free screening, with free popcorn, of the feature film 'How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (PG)' at the Guildhall Theatre.

Tim FitzHigham, Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk Creative Director, said: "It was wonderful that nearly 700 people came to see the dragons at the Guildhall. Dragons have always been a big part of life at St George’s Guildhall. We have records of Dragon Collars being on site from the 1500s, which must have been a lot bigger and stronger than dog collars! We had so much going on during the day for families to enjoy, with a deadly dragons trail, face painting, archery, brass rubbing and even an opportunity to meet a real dragon and other live creatures. The whole day was ROARsome!”

Borough Mayor Margaret Wilkinson joined in the fun

The event was organised in association with Norfolk Museums Service and funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Borough Council.
