The Norfolk Hospice are set to open their doors for an open day and a recruitment event to celebrate Hospice Care Week.
The independent charity, which is based in the village of Hillington, are inviting the public into the Hospice to learn more about their services and to take part in activities on Tuesday 11th October.
The open day is the best way to find out more about what they do and their services, with a focus on therapies and family and carer support. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to talk about how they support people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
There are two sessions on this open day on Tuesday 11th October, the first is from 10am-12pm and the second is 2pm-4pm.
The employment and volunteer recruitment is a separate event where the public are invited to learn more about working and volunteering for The Norfolk Hospice. This will be taking place on Thursday 13thOctober from 4pm-7pm.
The Norfolk Hospice provides end of life care at their inpatient unit and through their hospice at home service. They also provide day therapy classes and family and bereavement support services. All of their services are delivered completely free of charge.
Nicola Ellis, Chief Executive at The Norfolk Hospice, said:
“From 10th to 14th October, we will be celebrating Hospice Care Week. Each year, we come together to recognise and celebrate hospices and the care they provide nationwide. It’s an opportunity for us to acknowledge the true value of care and support and to look at what matters to us most at the end of our lives.
“At some point, death and dying affects us all. We want to ensure that the right resources, together with an exceptional level of care and support are available to anyone who needs them.
“During Hospice Care Week we will be offering people the chance to visit our Hospice and learn more about the teams here and how we deliver accessible, compassionate care. We look forward to welcoming the public inside our facility so that they can learn more about our services and how they can join our wonderful teams.”
Pre-booking is not required for either events and there is free on-site parking. Their full address is: The Norfolk Hospice, Wheatfields, Hillington, King’s Lynn, PE31 6BH.
