Draining installation works begin on 3rd February.
The works to put in the additional drainage to alleviate surface water flooding at Common Road is just about to commence.
The warning signage is already out and the legal notice ( WTRO5447) confirms it will be taking place from 3rd Feb. The order says that road will be closed from its junction with The Meadows for 50 metres northwards except for pedestrian access and vehicular access to a final destination in the road where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.
The alternative route is via: Common Road, Beach Road, Snettisham Bypass
Cllr Stuart Dark said: "This work links in to the previous flood works over the years at the flooding junction by the RBL hall, Common Road and the bypass (clearing of main ditches) to hopefully reduce instances that have happened in the past.
"The final bill will be in excess of £12,000 comprising of £2600 from my Local Member Fund and an additional c£9500 obtained on top from the Norfolk Flood Alliance for such preventative measures."
