Linnets and Magpies both lose, Dersingham win, West Norfolk RFU return to winning ways and Men's Indoor Bowls lose a humdinger

Football

Kings Lynm Town FC slipped to their first defeat under Ian Calverhouse in the National League North losing 2-0 at home to Chester FC. Calverhoise said, “we looked way off it today, we let them run all over us, men against boys”. Lynn slip to 15th and welcome fellow mid table side Macclesfield Town on Wednesday evening.

Mark Hunter's new realm at Heacham FC is offering no respite as Heacham were beaten 4-1 by Stowmarket Town. The hosts will rue early missed chances as they remain bottom of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division. Jake Poore with the goal.

They face two tough matches before the year is out against play off hopefuls. 3rd placed Ely City are this visitors on Saturday before Heacham travel to 4th placed Fakenham Town on Saturday, 27th December.

In Division One of the Anglian Combination League, Dersingham continue to grind out key wins in their quest for promotion. A tight 4-3 win at home to Loddon United means Derse remain in 3rd, hot on the heels of the top two, although they have played more games. A brace from Scott Gray and a goal apiece for Sam Peck and Joe Collison securing the three points.

In Division Three, Heacham Reserves had an excellent 4-1 win at Attleborough Reserves. Tom Hawkins, Alfie Buhlemann, Sam Smith and Daniel Buhlemann with the goals.

Dersingham Reserves are through to the 4th Round of the County Cup after a 2-1 win at home to Norwich CEYMS. A Max Francis goal and an own goal putting them in the hat for the next round draw.

In Division One of the North West Norfolk League, Heacham Minors Development FC lost a tight match 1-0 at leaders Reffley Youth FC, slipping to the bottom of the table in the process.

Dersingham Rovers ‘A’ were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Buxton Reserves in the County Cup after the game finished 1-1. Lewis Kerr with the goal.

In Division Two, Dersingham Rovers U23’s were beaten 4-0 at Gaywood.

Division Three side Dersingham Women were humbled by Division One leaders Mulbarton Wanderers Ladies Reserves in the League Cup on Sunday, losing 15-2. Lillie Edenborough and Anne-Marie Harris with the consolation goals.

Mid table Heacham FC U18's are in action tonight (Monday) as they travel to leaders St. Ives in the Thurlow Nunn Youth League.

Rugby

After losing for the first time at Saffron Walden last weekend, West Norfolk men returned to winning ways with a convincing and creditable 30-5 victory at home to Colchester 2nds on Saturday. They face a crucial match at 2nd placed Bury St. Edmunds ll’s next weekend. The ladies are back in action next weekend as they face a relegation battle at Harpenden.

Bowls

Hunstanton Men's Indoor Bowls team lost a tight match at Wymondham 'C' on Saturday by just one point, 79-78. They slip to 4th in Division Four of the Norfolk Indoor Bowls League.
