King’s Lynn returned from Chesham United convincing 4-1 winners in the 2nd Round Qualifying of the FA Cup. A brace from Gold Omotayo and a goal apiece for Morgan Williams and Cameron Forde-Brown securing the deserved victory.

They have now been drawn to face Isthmian League side, Royston Town, away in the 3rd Round Qualifying on Saturday, 27th September, two wins away from that lucrative 1st Round Proper.

In the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, Heacham FC find themselves rooted at the bottom of the table after a 3-1 home loss against Woodbridge Town. Their cause wasn’t help with an injury to goalkeeper, Terry Silva. Toby Hilliard scored a late consolation.

It doesn’t get any easier for the winless Magpies who’s next three games are against sides in the top half of the table, starting with a trip to Ely City tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

Dersingham Rovers bowed out of another Cup on Saturday, losing 1-0 at higher level Premier Division side, Sprowston, on Saturday in the Mummery Cup. It does mean they can now focus on the league as they seek to secure promotion after missing out on the last game of the season in May.

Heacham Reserves were also knocked out of the Cup, losing 3-2 at KLSC in the Cyril Ballyn Cup.

Ingoldisthorpe FC’s recent good run came to an end, beaten 2-1 at home by Thorpe Village in the CS Morley Cup. Dersingham Reserves are through though after beating Bohemians 4-2 on penalties after the match ended 2-2. Finn Howe and Jake Marsden with the goals in normal time.

In Division Two of the North West Norfolk League, Dersingam Rovers U23’s continued their excellent start to the season, with a 3-0 win at home to West Lynn FC. A brace from Jack Jordan and a goal from Brandon King meaning the local outfit top the table. FC St. Edmunds Hunstanton are still without a win after a 3-2 reverse at Watlington ‘A’ in the County Cup, Rhys Nichols and Harry Raven scoring, whilst Ingoldisthorpe Reserves are through to the next round prevailing 3-2 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 at Gaywood FC. Kai Mayes with the goal.

Heacham FC U18’s welcome Bury Town U18’s in the FA Youth Cup on Thursday evening (7.45pm Kick off). It is their first ever home game in the competition.

After securing their first ever win in the Norfolk Women & Girls’ League, Dersingham Rovers Women were brought back down to earth with a 7-2 loss at North Walsham Town Ladies in the League Cup.

Sailing

It was a busy weekend on the road for local sailing siblings, Faith and Toby Turner.

On Saturday they sailed their International Laser Class Association (ILCA) boats, where both took part in the Draycote Youth and Junior Championships.

Faith lined up next to ex double Topper National Champion Jess Powell who has some impressive ILCA International results also to her name. It was really good experience as they start to race in their ILCA's with an impressive line up! Toby finished the day 2nd Junior and Faith 4th.

It was back home to swap their ILCA boats for their Toppers before heading to Hunts Sailing Club early on Sunday morning for the Eastern Area Topper Traveller event. This is the first of a series of 6 events taking place across the region right through to May next year where the final event is hosted by their home club, Snettisham Beach Sailing Club. The results keep coming though, with a Turner one and two. Toby took first place closely followed by Faith. Toby also took straight bullets to win the day on the highest points possible.

They are looking forward to their next ILCA event which is the Eastern GP Series at Blackwater next weekend before starting their winter training programme with GB Coach Steve Irish and Draycote Academy.
