A crucial weekend of football, with an important schedule looming over Easter weekend and Hunstanton’s very own Easter Egg Hunt
Hunstanton Easter Egg Hunt
Why not pop down to Hunstanton on Saturday to the town’s Easter Egg Hunt which should be fun for all the family. Organised by the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, various tokens will be hidden around the town which will ultimately lead you to the secret location of the Easter Bunny with all their chocolate eggs. Football
King's Lynn Town seem to have found their goal scoring mojo and at a good time too as they vie for a play off spot. Yes, it was against bottom side Farley Celtic, but there is nothing like a goal fest after a dry spell to boost confidence leading into the final phase of the season.
As a consequence, the Linnets crept back into the play off places, with the convincing 3-1 win at Farsley. An early goal from Ross Crane and a double from Gold Omotayo enough to secure the crucial three points.
Easter weekend will define their season, as they host leaders Scunthorpe United on Easter Friday before travelling to relegation bound Needham Market on Easter Monday.
Whilst their goal difference doesn’t do them any favours, the Linnet’s fate still remains entirely in their own hands. News that Singaporean backers, TSI, may inject further funds into the club will add some confidence into the squad going into the final three games.
Heacham FC have a hospitality tent as they hold a Sponsor’s Day at their final home league game of the season against Soham Town Rangers this coming Easter Saturday (3pm Kick off) before they travel to Downham Town in a huge game on Easter Monday, a match that could determine the outcome of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division title (3pm Kick off).
In Division One of the Anglian Combination League, Dersingham Rovers have confirmed a top three spot with a 3-0 win at home to Thetford Rovers. A man of the match display and hat-trick from the in-form Scotty Gray stealing the show. Dersingham play Premier Division leaders, Acle United in the Mummery Cup Final at the FDC Sports Arena in Norwich on Thursday evening.
In Division Four, top of the table Heacham Reserves lost their last game of the season 3-2 at 3rd placed Attleborough Town Reserves, although the result does mean that they have secured a minimum top three finish. Alfie Buhlemann and Blake Foster with the goals.
In the North West Norfolk League, Division Two side Heacham Minors Development FC have done their chances of a top three finish no harm at all with a 4-1 win at home to Watlington FC ‘A’, leapfrogging their opponents into 2nd place in the process. A brace from Ryan Scrivens and a goal apiece for Ollie Southgate and James Davies doing the damage. FC St. Edmunds Hunstanton’s recent run of good form was, however, derailed as they lost 4-1 at Terrington Tigers Reserves.
