Men's West Norfolk Rugby team topple leaders, busy programme of football returns and success for both Hunstanton men's and ladies Indoor Bowls teams
Rugby
The men’s West Norfolk Rugby team need to finish the season strongly, possibly go unbeaten, if they are to achieve promotion from Division One East and make it back to back promotions.
They have certainly made their intentions clear after a magnificent 32-31 win at leaders Stowmarket on Saturday. Both teams traded blows in what turned out to be a tight affair, with West Norfolk’s physical superiority edging them over the line. However, it look late tries from Lewis Rudd and JJ Hart to seal the win after Stowmarket had fought back.

They remain in charge of their own destiny with a game in hand on the top two and also face new leaders Bury St. Edmunds ll’s at home in what could well be a mouthwatering and title deciding showdown on April 11th.
The Ladies were beaten 62-5 at Wymondham Wasps and remain bottom of Division One East.

King’s Lynn Town FC took a point from their game at home to Hereford on Saturday in a dull 0-0 draw with few chances. Manager, Ian Calverhouse, admits more firepower is required up front if Lynn are to remain clear of the relegation places. A late red card for Ross Crane and imminent suspension has added to the Linnets woes. Lynn travel to in-form Telford United on Saturday.
Heacham’s game at Woodbridge Town was abandoned due to fog. The magpies were losing 2-0 at the time. Results elsewhere mean Heacham have slipped to bottom of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division again, although they do have games in hand on two of the teams above them with just three points dividing the bottom four. Next up for Heacham are Kirkley & Pakefield at home on Saturday.
In Division One of the Anglian Combination League, Dersingham had an excellent 4-2 win at home to promotion rivals Norton Athletic, to keep pace with the top two. Lewis Curson, Shane Akers, Isaac Bloodworth and Albie Howe with the goals in the important win.

Sam Smith was voted Man of the Match (pictured).
In Division Four, Ingoldisthorpe FC made hard work of a1-0 home win against bottom side KLSC Reserves to maintain their promotion challenge. Dersingham Reserves lost 2-0 at home to Attleborough Town in the Norfolk Junior Cup. Derse gave as good as they got in the early exchanges before succumbing to a side who play two divisions above them.
In Division One of the North West Norfolk League Dersingham Rovers ‘A’ had an emphatic 6-2 win at bottom side AFC Lynn Reserves. A brace from Nathan Branch and goals for Will Irving, Nath Mitchell, Zack Kingshott and James Wicklen seeing them to a convincing win.
