The Beach Sailing Club to host a number of activities open to everyone
Snettisham Beach Sailing Club is hosting a number of activities which are open to everyone.
Sessions begin on Friday (8th May) from 12.30pm to 4.30pm where sailors of all abilities are invited down to see the facilities on offer and take part in taster sessions in a natural environment, with some of the best views across the Wash.
Refreshments will also be available in the clubhouse bar for spectators and sailors alike.
On Saturday, there will be a more relaxed feel where people can take in the wonderful views and watch the more experienced sailors in action on the sea.
There will be entertainment and activities on throughout the weekend, culminating in an Open Day on Sunday (10.30am to 4pm) where there will be live sea racing, displays on the in-land lake and music.
Accessible Sailing Coordinator, Adrian Tebbutt, says, "No matter what your ability or age, this weekend is for anyone looking to take up sailing or simply find somewhere new to sail their boats. People will have an opportunity to see what we have on offer and sample sailing in a safe environment.”
A number of skilled and trained volunteers will be on hand to show people the ropes, whilst there are support groups and individuals with disabilities who will be in attendance to discuss the possibilities of taking up sailing.
Adrian adds, “We are trying to make sailing as accessible as possible to everyone in a supportive environment in a range of boats that can accommodate all requirements. We hope to see you over the weekend.”
