Saturday January 25th was the last Saturday of the month and Sandringham parkrun linked in with the Sandringham ‘5k Your Way (5KYW) - Move Against Cancer’ group. Sandringham 5k Your Way, Move Against Cancer
5K Your Way after walking the parkrun
This is a national charity with around 108 groups throughout the UK with Sandringham currently the only one in Norfolk. It’s a support group with a difference for people living with or beyond cancer, and their families and healthcare professionals, and we have ambassadors there each month to welcome people and to walk and talk around the beautiful 5k parkrun route in the Royal Parkland. Launched in February 2024, today was the 5KYW 12th get-together. Having walked the 5k at Sandringham parkrun the group celebrated their almost one-year anniversary with a coffee and cake in the restaurant at the Sandringham Visitor Centre. The Estate staff at the visitor centre had made delicious cakes for the 5KYW Group. A major surprise the group were joined by His Majesty The King who came to offer his congratulations! His Majesty took the time to talk to all the group and was so interested in everyone’s story. A very special and memorable morning.
A bright crisp morning greeted visitors from Thetford, Hampshire, Oxford and Leamington for Sandringham parkrun number 167.
