Residents urged to have their say on Council Tax Support Scheme

The consultation runs from 2nd August to 15th September.

The Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk runs a Council Tax Support Scheme, which is designed to help working-age people with the cost of their council tax if they are on a low income. This is separate from the Government’s national scheme for pension-age people.

This scheme is reviewed annually and each time the council invites all residents to have their say on the scheme – that consultation opens on Friday, 2 August.

Cllr Chris Morley, Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “Every household in West Norfolk pays Council Tax so it is right that they have the opportunity to comment on this scheme and I would urge everyone to take part.

“Last year the council agreed to maximise the support offered by the scheme to give 100% relief on council tax to eligible people who are of working age.

"This year the council proposes to maintain that level of support and we would welcome your views."

Details of the proposed scheme and the consultation questionnaire are available on the council’s website from 2nd August at https://www.west-norfolk.gov.uk/ctsconsultation
