Emergency works are due to start on Monday (March 2nd) to repair damage to the Hunstanton promenade.
Recent storms created a large void beneath the coastal defences, causing part of the surface to collapse.

The void measures around 3.5m deep and 14m wide in places, about the size of a single decker bus.
The work's expected to take at least two weeks and involves installing sheet piling at the base of the seawall and filling the void with concrete, a 140‑metre stretch will remain closed.

Cllr Sandra Squire, Cabinet Member for Environment and Coastal at the borough council, says, “The recent collapse shows just how powerful winter storms can be and why maintaining our coastal defences is so important."
“These emergency works will make the promenade safe again while we continue progressing the long‑term plan for our coastal defences."

Cllr Squire went on to thank those impacted, "Thank you to residents, businesses and visitors for their patience while this essential work takes place.”
The borough council says updates will be shared as the works progress.
