At Heacham Junior School the children have been learning about protecting our planet through Forest School.
Their enthusiasm within the sessions led to a climate change protest and now the children have chosen to take a step further by deciding to do a recycled fashion show.
The idea evolved from two girls in year 6 who inspired the whole school to take part, encouraging each class to research an environmental issue and design and make an outfit using recycled materials to represent it.
The children paid for their tickets in litter, chose meaningful music to play, and spoke passionately about our planet as their models walked down the catwalk.
Forest School teacher Emily Riddington said: “the children are so passionate about the environment and feel so empowered to make a difference. I am incredibly proud of them all.”
The children at Heacham Junior have already received an eco-award but want to keep doing more to help protect our planet.
