HMS Trumpeter will moor in King’s Lynn this weekend
HMS Trumpeter will be moored in the town for several days, with the public able to visit on Saturday, from: 10am -12pm, and 1pm - 2pm.
The Archer‑class patrol vessel's part of the Coastal Forces Squadron (East), based in Newcastle, and is designed for coastal operations, supporting policing missions, maritime security, and inshore patrol duties.
The Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, Cllr Andy Bullen, who will visit the ship on Saturday and host a reception for the crew in the Mayor’s Parlour in the evening, says, “It’s been six years since we last welcomed a Royal Navy vessel to King’s Lynn, and I am delighted that HMS Trumpeter and her crew will be visiting our town.
“The crew are kindly opening the vessel to local cadets and to the public, and pupils from Greyfriars School will also enjoy a tour.”
On Friday pupils from Greyfriars School will take part in naval‑themed activities at Marriotts Warehouse, followed by an onboard visit for some of the group.
HMS Trumpeter's scheduled to depart King’s Lynn on Monday (March 9th).
