KL1 Radio the local radio station for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk have today announced two brand extensions to its media portfolio.
KL XTRA will offer a pop-up radio service to local organisations and event companies who can use their online and DAB service to ‘own a temporary radio station’ for a week or a month dependant on how much time they need.
They are using this platform to promote seasonal cheer offering back-to-back festive tunes and will be music led without presenters. This will enable shops, offices, and factories a readymade festive music outlet from their local radio station.
The music on KL XTRA for the festive period will feature classic songs, new recordings of traditional Christmas music alongside party mixes to light up any Christmas party. This service will be available online and on DAB from November 6th. On the technical side. KL XTRA might just be the first AI powered 24-hour radio offering in the UK.
Running alongside this there has been a call from listeners for a country music offering in the area. They asked and KL1 listened with the launch of KL Country. This will air country music 24 hours a day, initially music led, but they are looking to expand their team of presenters to man this station on a permanent basis.
Programme controller Richard Dix commented “We have had a huge response to KL1 Radio, and we feel that launching KL XTRA and KL Country will add to our commitment to the local community and economy.”
