Only three games beat the weather in what was supposed to be a crucial weekend of football for all local clubs.
Heacham’s game at home to Sheringham was adandoned after just 30 minutes, with the hosts leading 1-0 at the time. Heacham remain in 14th place but are perilously close to the relegation zone. Their fate still remains in their own hands, however, as they face all the sides below them in the coming months.
In Division One of the Anglian Combination League Dersingham Rovers will rue missed chances and see it as two points dropped in their promotion push as they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to North Walsham Town. Despite going two down, Dersingham rallied with a goal apiece for Jahy Chima and Scott Gray and had chances to win the match. Dersingham remain in 6th place, seven points off the promotion places.
In Division One of the North West Norfolk League, Dersingham Rovers ‘A’ usurped The Woottons FC at the top of the table with a superb 4-2 victory. A Chay Sharpin hat-trick and a goal from Elliot Wilson doing the damage in the important win.
In Division Two, Alfie Penn was on fire for FC St. Edmund's Hunstanton as he scored four in a 6-1 rout of bottom side FC Anuri Town. Russell King and Jacob Sumersgill also notched for the local side who have now closed the gap on all the sides immediately above them. Manager, Nigel King, was delighted with the outcome, saying, “we were due a result like this and could have scored more to be honest. Hopefully, we can take this form into our next match”.
