NISA opens new store in Heacham

A village shop has been renovated and re-opened selling bread from Krusty Loaf, cakes from Doughty Cakes, eggs from Glovers Farm, along with high quality meat from both Elsegood Family Butchers and Broadland Hams, Norfolk.

Nisa has launched the store on Station Road in Heacham, with Neil Godhania and his brother, Hemal, managing operations. As well as wide ranging fresh and frozen food produce, there is also a large variety of confectionary, alcohol, hot and cold beverage machines and a bakery. They have also introduced a community corner seating area designed to encourage people to spend time in-store, whether that’s simply relaxing and enjoying a coffee or sandwich, meeting friends, or taking part in activities such as the monthly “Coffee with a Cop” initiative aimed at local residents.

Neil, who also oversees two other stores in the region, said, “We are delighted to be a part of the community in Heacham and believe our services and facilities have been tailored to provide something for everyone. Our staff, Hemal and I look forward to welcoming everyone who visits our friendly store”. They are keen to make it more than just a convenience store, bringing energy to the village andmaking it a community hub.

He added, “we also hope that Heacham Stores will be a place that residents andholiday makers alike enjoy visiting to shop for local produce, fresh food, and easy meals.”

Both are also very keen to give back to the local community, having already donated to the local church, library and primary school. They are also looking to get involved in Heacham’s sporting community and, in particular, the junior and senior football scene. In fact, Neil and Hemal both played a good level of football in the Peterborough area - Neil actually won the United Counties League with Peterborough Sports, who are King’s Lynn Town FC’s opponents on Easter Friday.

The store, which employs 14 people, will be open from 7am until 10pm every day. After a soft launch opening, the store had a formal grand opening on Saturday, 28th March where local Councillor, Terry Parish, cut the ribbon. Terry said, “they have made a wonderful job refurbishing the premises with an excellent array of local food and produce. I hope local people make use of the excellent services”.

Coca Cola, Eric’s pizza from Thornham and and Krusty Loaf from Fakenham were also all on hand to dish out delicious treats to the 100 plus people who attended the event and visited the store throughout the afternoon.
