Local charity offering support to more veterans thanks to transport funding

The Bridge for Heroes says more people can access vital support and friendship.

The charity says its mission has always been clear - to support the armed forces community and ensure that no veteran or their family feels alone. Loneliness and isolation can affect anyone it says, but for many members of the armed forces community, the challenges of service life can make it even harder to stay connected.

Adding, "Thanks to the incredible support of the Veterans Foundation, we are now one step closer to tackling this problem head-on. Their generous funding is allowing us to provide much-needed transport into our drop-in centre for isolated veterans and their families."

Which means that more people can access vital support, friendship, and community, all things that can 'make a world of difference to someone’s wellbeing'.

The Bridge for Heroes is now calling on the local community for help, as it's looking for volunteer drivers who can spare a few hours to help transport members of the armed forces community to and from their centre in King's Lynn.

"Your time and kindness could mean that an isolated veteran gets to spend an afternoon with friends, have a cup of tea and a chat, or access important services that they might otherwise go without.  Just a few hours of your time could help change a life — keeping our veterans connected, supported, and reminded that they are never alone."
