Little sailors take to water for Cadet Week

Snettisham Beach Sailing Club kickstarted their annual Cadet Week on Monday 5th August where children aged between seven to sixteen will get to experience all things sailing.

By day the children will be playing games and learning how to sail, and by night they will take part in quizzes and games, enjoy a BBQ and disco and will culminate with an awards presentation, buffet and mud rugby on the Saturday.

Instructor Matt said: “I started a novice and I’ve gone all the way up to instructing the race group. We try to improve their sailing and to have a good time with lots of games.”

Fellow instructor Connie added: “They’re making friends and getting on with each other and a lot are getting over their fears. One of them was terrified of the water, he capsized, and he loved it!”

Snettisham Beach Sailing Club are a RYA Recognised Training Centre with RYA British Youth Sailing Recognised Club status and offer lessons in sailing and power-boating for all ages and abilities.
