Lifeboat volunteers retire after combined 38 years of tireless fundraising

Hunstanton and West Norfolk Fundraising Lifeboat Guild announces sad farewell to four of its long standing committee members.

The Guild announce the retirement of two of its longstanding members - David Jones and Claire Taylor who have served on the Guild for 15 and 23 years respectively.

Their time and hard work have contributed to making our Guild one of the most successful of the Fund Raising Guilds on the East coast; their guidance and knowledge will be sorely missed.

Claire is retiring but David will continue to look after the administration of the boathouse. A presentation was made to them recently from the Guild and a letter of appreciation was made to them from the Lifeboat headquarters at Poole.

We are also sorry to see the departure of Alan and Tina Barton who decided to return to the Midlands. Tina was a great asset to Melissa Darby in the RNLI shop and Alan was our treasurer.

Without the support of many of us in the local community, the Guild would struggle to raise the necessary funds to support our boat house and the RNLI. If you are interesting in becoming a volunteer get in touch with our Chairman David West. His email address is DWest@gbstp.com
