Let the show go on!

Westacre Theatre's fundraising journey for a new specialist tent reaches the halfway mark.

For five wonderful summers, the tent at Westacre Theatre has been home to Shakespeare, comedy, family shows and youth performances, a place where audiences gather, friendships form and stories come to life. Sadly, after years of use, the tent has reached the end of its life and can no longer be insured for wear and tear. Without a replacement, the theatre's outdoor season and everything it supports is at risk.

Liz Brewer told T&A that: "This matters because the summer programme is Westacre’s most important period of activity, generating over £40,000 each year. That income directly supports our year-round youth theatre, education and community work, helping us keep creative opportunities affordable and often free for young people across Norfolk.

"Thanks to the generosity of our community, local funders and supporters, we’ve already raised a significant portion of the total cost... but replacing a specialist outdoor tent is a big step for a small rural theatre, and we can’t quite get there through ticket sales and local fundraising alone.

"By investing in a professionally managed tent, one that is safely erected, dismantled, stored and serviced each year, along with other essential outdoor upgrades, we can secure a solution that will last for years to come and offer much better value than short-term fixes.

"We are over half way there, so your support at this moment helps us bridge the final gap, safeguard our summer season, and ensure Westacre continues to be a place where creativity, opportunity and community thrive.
