The Governing Body are delighted with the result of the OFSTED inspection and they look forward to the continued success of the school.

Ingoldisthorpe C of E VA Primary School family and community are very excited to announce our recent Ofsted inspection and our outcomes of good with outstanding elements. After over a decade without inspection, the school has changed positively with arrival of our new headteacher. Mrs Julia Norman bringing a warmth, vibrancy and excitement back into the school team along with many new and welcomed ideas. Mrs Norman has been able to revitalise the school, curriculum, policies and improve the wider opportunities offered to our children, staff and community.

Our Ofsted inspectors visited on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd October and recognised our ‘warm and welcoming and inclusive’ environment, where we focus on outdoor learning, wider opportunities and on preparing our children for the next steps in their education. Inspectors commented that our ‘school’s strong Christian ethos emanates through everything’ we do, including six church services, three musical performances and wrap around care from 7.30am to 6pm. Inspectors were impressed with the outstanding ‘exceptional, rich and varied’ wider opportunities offered to the children. Opportunities including multiple leadership opportunities, learning two musical instruments, developing sporting prowess at a national and regional level, as well as being ‘superb role models in their well-mannered, caring and considerate’ behaviour in school and the wider community.

All children at Ingoldisthorpe C of E VA Primary School achieve well and pupils with SEND achieve ‘successfully alongside their peers’, they are identified clearly as ‘polite, articulate and respectful.’ As a school team, we could not be prouder of the Ofsted outcome and the recognition of our children, who are able to have a ‘genuine voice and role in school life’ as well as achieving exceptionally well by the time they leave the school. Staff and children alike are well prepared for modern life and ‘are proud to work at the school.’
