A heartfelt community initiative supporting those who are lonely, without family, or facing hardship during the festive season.
Hunstanton Town Council says, "Each year, residents of Hunstanton demonstrate extraordinary generosity, and this year the Mayor hopes to bring even more people together in the spirit of kindness, compassion, and Christmas giving."
The appeal will collect a range of gifts that will be delivered personally by the Mayor in the run-up to Christmas. Requested donations include:
• Toiletries and chocolates for local care home residents
• Toys for children
• Warm clothing and medical supplies (such as bandages) for those supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine
• Toys, books, and learning materials to send to children in Ukraine
The Town Council says its support for Ukraine, "Has already made a significant impact. Earlier this year, we received the following message of gratitude: Thank you very much to Hunstanton Town Council for supporting Ukrainian children who lost a parent in Russia’s war against Ukraine. Board games, toys, learning resources, clothing, and books were gratefully received by 33 Ukrainian children."
The council says these words, "Remind us how far kindness can reach, and how deeply our community’s support is felt by those living through hardship."
This year, the Mayor hopes even more local residents will join in the appeal, adding, "Let’s make this year’s Christmas Gift Appeal bigger, better, and brighter than ever before. Helping ensure that no one feels forgotten during the festive season and that children - both here in Hunstanton and in Ukraine - experience the warmth and joy of Christmas."
