Whilst the coronavirus pandemic put a temporary halt to so many activities, the staff at Hunstanton Town Council were able to carry out some extensive refurbishments of the Community Centre in Avenue Road to give the building and the facilities a complete makeover and are pleased to announce the works are now complete.
The main hall has been painted in lighter tones, the beautiful parquet floor sanded and polished, the kitchen units tidied and re-painted and new carpet tiles have been laid in the entrance hall making the Centre feel fresh and welcoming.
Outside, a coat of fresh green paint has been applied to the wall, CCTV cameras fitted and the Town Council has bought and installed a defibrillator for use in case of emergency.
Mayor Tony Bishopp said, “We wanted to give the Community Centre a makeover for some while and as we had to close the doors to groups during the coronavirus pandemic, it seemed the ideal time to get the work done.
“I would like to thank the staff, in particular our hardworking caretaker for all their hard work and look forward to welcoming our regular and hopefully some new groups to the Centre, just as soon as government regulations allow.”
