Celebrating the rich history and heritage of our area, Hunstanton & District Civic Society's Heritage Open Days 2021 offer tours of local landmarks
These days organised on a National Scale have returned this year after missing out last year due to the Pandemic. The Civic Society has managed to arrange the following very popular tours some of which you are unlikely ever to be able to experience again!
HUNSTANTON LIGHTHOUSE
Friday, 10 September – 11:00 to 14:00 at half hourly intervals
Visit the Hunstanton Lighthouse dungeon and then climb the stairs to the top of the tower to enjoy the fantastic view over the Wash and adjoining town, led by Andrew Murray
HEACHAM VILLAGE WALK
Monday, 13 September – 11:00; 14:00
A circular walk around the historic village of Heacham starting at St Mary's Church,
Heacham (dating from the 13th Century) led by Mavis Windibank
HUNSTANTON INFANT SCHOOL
Wednesday, 15 September – 11:00; 11:45; 12:30; 13:15
Guided tour of part of the former Infant School in James Street, led by John Maiden
OLD HUNSTANTON HALL
Thursday, 16 September – 10:00; 11:00; 12:00
A guided walking tour of the grounds and courtyard of Old Hunstanton Hall, starting at St Mary’s Church in Old Hunstanton, led by Nick Torry

HUNSTANTON SELF-GUIDED TOWN WALKS
Visitors are able to follow a number of walking trails in and around Hunstanton at their leisure: (1) Town Trail; (2) Cliff Trail; (3) Old Hunstanton Trail; (4) Hunstanton Gardens Trail; (5) Wolf Trail; (6) Heritage Plaque Walk
Maps of walking trails are included in the Hunstanton Guide Book (£2.50) and leaflets available from Hunstanton Heritage Centre
The Heritage Centre is open from 14:00 to 16:00 on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
