Have your say on local spending - 'Let's Talk West Norfolk' is back

The Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk says it wants to hear what matters to local residents 'to help inform future spending decisions'.

The council first ran Let’s Talk last year, asking people their thoughts on a range of services, and giving them the chance to put forward their own ideas for increasing council income and saving money.

Now it’s back and this time builds on themes from these ideas to find out which ones people would support.

The Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance, Cllr Chris Morley, says, “We had a fantastic response to our survey last year, with some great ideas put forward by our residents. We can’t take them all forward – I don’t think the council will be starting up a floating disco on the Ouse – but it has helped us to come up with some suggestions and now we’d like to know what people think about them."

Cllr Morley adds, “It’s a smaller survey this year that only takes around five minutes to complete and I would urge people to take part – everyone’s opinion counts.”

The survey asks three main questions:

1. It asks people for their view on council tax being set locally.
2. Which ideas for boosting income or saving money they would support the most or least.
3. To think about different services and say which ones could be provided at a lower level to save money and which ones should be protected at their current levels.

The survey can be completed at www.letstalkwestnorfolk.co.uk. It opens on Monday 29th September, and closes at midnight on Sunday, 26th October.
