It all began when she was eight years old, making paper roses and hedgehogs from old books, raising money for charity. Hannah Burton from Hunstanton has now raised a total of £21,502.52 for good causes.
Hannah, 17, who is currently studying Criminology and Forensics at the College of West Anglia, presented a cheque for her latest fundraising efforts of £3,357.00 to the Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, Cllr Paul Bland, on behalf of Children with Cancer UK.
Mayor Paul Bland said: "I'm delighted to accept the cheque on behalf of Children with Cancer UK and it's a fantastic achievement for such a young lady to raise that amount of money."
Hannah’s grandmother Monica Burton said: “She plays basketball on a Wednesday, she does her Tang Soo Do black belt training on Tuesdays and Thursdays and has four College assignments on the go too. To raise this amount of money for charity is amazing."
On Friday the 28th February, Hannah and family members were also joined by Hunstanton Mayor, Cllr Michael Ruston, Mayoress Christine Earnshaw and former Mayor Carol Bower at Hunstanton’s Honeystone pub to celebrate and present the cheque.
