Local teams were in action over the weekend.
Heacham FC made it back to back wins in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division on Saturday, returning from Long Melford with a massive three points. Two goals from Josh Williams and one from Jordan Goult securing a comfortable 3-0 win. They face another crucial relegation battle tomorrow (Tuesday) evening when they welcome Lakenheath (7.45pm Kick off). Lakenheath sit just two points behind the Magpies and one place above the drop zone.
Dersingham Rovers gained their revenge against Yelverton FC, who beat them in the Norfolk Senior Cup a week ago, with a 4-0 home success in the Mummery Cup. A brace from Joe Collison and a goal apiece for Sam Peck and Scott Sutherland-Gray putting the local side in the hat for the third round draw.
Ingoldisthorpe FC’s miserable run of form continues with a 4-1 home defeat at the hands of Gayton United in the Cyril Ballyn Cup.
Heacham Reserves returned from their long trip to Gorleston based side Prostar Windows with nothing to show for their efforts, 7-2 losers in the CS Morley Cup. In the same competition, Dersingham Rovers Reserves capped yet another fine weekend for the club, beating Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers ‘A’ 4-3 on penalties after the match ended 2-2. Aaron Herbert and Hayden Neave scoring.
In Division One of the North West Norfolk League, Dersingham Rovers ‘A’ are up to third place with a 4-2 home success over Watlington FC Reserves. Two goals from Gary Bowman and a goal apiece from Sonny Devlin and Nathan Mitchell doing the damage. Ingoldisthorpe Reserves remain bottom though after losing a tight match against Marshland Reserves 1-0.
FC St. Edmunds Hunstanton
In Division Two, Heacham Minors Development FC welcomed FC St. Edmunds Hunstanton, in a first local derby between the two local neighbourhoods for several years. Heacham ran out worthy 4-0 winners with goals from Ryan Scrivens, Tom Raisbury, Matt Skene and George Tuttle. Three red cards might paint a different story but the game was played out in the right spirit. Heacham face another local derby next weekend, hosting Ingoldisthorpe FC in a tasty second round tie of the County Cup.
