Folk in the Town returns to King's Staithe Square on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July.
Part of the Borough Council Summer Events Programme Folk in the Town brings two days of traditional folk, Americana, folk rock, bluegrass and everything in between, all live and free to the historic centre of King’s Lynn.

Running between 12.00 and 17.00 on Saturday 19th and 11.00 and 16.00 on Sunday the event features performers from around the region, as well as some of the best local performers.
Musical Director Adrian Tebbutt says “The festival has gone from strength to strength and we have no problems attracting a wide range of high quality artists to the stage - from old hands, up and coming young acts and the best local talent”
Headlined this year on Saturday by The Vagaband with their own brand of folk/country/roots rock, they are supported by The Tildens with their country tinged americana, Sirens at the Helm, an all female Shanty crew based in Snettisham, Isabel Inkcap, Southend based singer songwriter and her band, and, fresh from their success at the Hanse Festival, local favourites The Fried Pirates with their upbeat arrangements of traditional and modern tunes. The Ouse Washes Molly will be performing in between sets as well.

Sunday Headliners are Rattlebox, supported by The Rummuns “we do singalong throwaway pop”, West of Eden, folk acoustic duo, Joe and Mary with their outstanding country ballads, The Boxwood Chessmen - Folk, Americana, Angliana, hokum, all delivered with panache and fun ,and Blakeney Old Wild Rovers, a riotous Shanty crew who have raised over £330,000 for charity since their inception. The Kings Morris will be performing in between sets.
Seating will be available on Tuesday market place, but this is rapidly taken, so if you are coming along why not bring a picnic and some chairs and make a day of it.
The event will be streamed live on West Norfolk Radio and KL1 radio and will be compered by Richard Tree from KL1 radio’s Folk Show.
