King's Lynn will travel to Scunthorpe United in a tasty final FA Cup qualifying tie on Saturday, 11th October, knowing a win will put them in the hat for the 1st Round proper where football league clubs join.

A 5-1 rout of Royston Town in third round qualifying on Saturday ended a turbulent week for the local club which saw the departure of manager, James Rowe. A brace from Ross Crane and a goal apiece for Joe Nyahwema, Michael Gyasi and Morgan Williams enough to see the Linnets through to the next round.

Heacham FC remain rooted at the bottom of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division after a 4-0 defeat at Haverhill Rovers.

In Division One of the Anglian Combination League, Dersingham Rovers twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with Thetford Rovers. It was a hard earned point with both sides expected to be in the promotion mix come the end of the season. Albie Howe snd Scottie Gray with the goals.

In Division Three, Alfie Buhlemann continued his good form as Heacham Reserves overcame a stubborn Attleborough Town Reserves 2-1.

In Division Four, Dersingham Reserves’s good start to the season continued with a 2-1 against ten man Wells Town Reserves. Jake Wiseman and Cameron Seal with the goals. Whilst Ingoldisthorpe FC bagged all three points in a 2-0 home win against Watton United Reserves with Shane Watson and Kieran Herbert notching.

In Division One of the North West Norfolk League, Heacham Minors FC Development lost in an eleven goal humdinger at home to AFC Lynn Reserves 6-5, whilst, in Division Two, Dersingham Rovers U23’s were held to a 2-2 draw by Watlington FC ‘A’, FC St. Edmunds Hunstanton managed to salvage a point in a 4-4 draw with West Lynn and Ingoldisthorpe Reserves ran riot in a 14-0 win at bottom side FC Aburi Town where Kai Mayes scored four.

In Division Three of the Norfolk Women & Girls’ Football League, Dersingham Women were convincingly beaten at home by Dereham Women on Sunday, 11-1.

Heacham FC U18’s first foray into the FA Youth Cup is reaping dividends with two wins thus far. This week they welcome Sudbury U18’s, putting them one win away from the 1st Round Proper where the wealthier big guns enter the draw.

Heacham will take heart from the fact that Sudbury have yet to win a league game this season although they won’t be taking the visitors lightly. With so much at stake, worth a visit this one. Kick off is 7pm on Thursday evening.

Golf

The annual Stephen Eldridge Charity Golf Day at Heacham Manor Golf Club proved another huge success on Saturday. 120 players took part in the fundraiser, which raises money for the East Anglian Children's Hospice (each) charity which supported Stephen and partner, Odette, when their son, Callum, unfortunately passed away in 2013.
