Evie completes her fundraising kick-a-thon in aid of The Norfolk Hospice

Young fundraiser Evie Taylor, 8, has raised £445 in a kick-a-thon challenge in memory of her grandmother Pamela Carter, who was cared for at The Norfolk Hospice late last year.

Evie, from King’s Lynn, challenged herself to complete 100 kicks twice a day on her string ball for 20 days. She completed her challenge at The Norfolk Hospice in Hillington on Thursday 4th March, cheered on by members of staff.

Evie said: “Last year my Grandma was very poorly, she had a horrible bug in her brain called cancer and she died in November last year. I love and miss my Grandma so much.

“I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to raise money for the lovely place that looked after her. My Mummy visited Grandma lots of times and she told me that it was a fantastic place full of wonderful nurses and doctors and that Grandma was very well looked after.”

Lyndsay Carter, Chief Executive at The Norfolk Hospice, said:

“It was wonderful to meet Evie and cheer her on as she completed her kick-a-thon challenge in memory of her Grandma. We are very grateful to have such kind and committed fundraisers in our community who help us raise the vital funds needed to provide outstanding and compassionate end of life care.”
