Dersingham Schoolchildren plant bulbs with help from Thaxters

Thaxter's Garden Centre Plant Area Supervisor Chris Stephenson visited Dersingham Primary School today to show the pupils how to plant daffodil bulbs. They also got to try it out for themselves.

Wendy Warner, manager at Thaxters explained: “Taylors Bulbs, our bulb supplier, created a promotion called ‘Little Daffodils’ where we purchased the bulbs, they provided the pots and also make a donation to Greenfingers Charity and our compost supplier, Evergreen, provided compost.

“After speaking to the whole school in assembly this morning and explaining about how bulbs grow, the children from each class came into the hall individually and planted up their three daffodils per pot and will be watching them grow until they flower in the Spring. Great fun was had by all, lots of questions from the children and some rather mucky hands! We would like to thank Taylors Bulbs and Evergreen for making this possible and the schools for taking part.

“Greenfingers are a national charity dedicated to supporting children who spend time in hospices around the UK, along with their families, by creating inspiring gardens for them to relax in and benefit from.”
