News from the second day of this church and community project.
The Rt Rev’d Dr Jane Steed, Bishop of Lynn and Vicar of Heacham Rev'd Veronica Wilson with the old and new bells
There was a Thanksgiving service and blessing of the bell and cupola the Rt Rev’d Dr Jane Steed, Bishop of Lynn yesterday evening, and the Coronation bell was on display beside the oldest bell in Norfolk in the church overnight.

A very windy morning saw Heacham's churchyard filled with onlookers for the raising of the bell into the specially restored cupola, and after one or two false starts, the hoist lifted the 82.1kg bronze bell up the tower.
Made at the Allanconi Foundry in Bolzonein, Italy, the bell is inscribed with the words 'HEACHAM COMMEMORATES THE CORONATION OF KING CHARLES III 2023'.
Final fixing
Amen.
With thanks to our photographer Ian Burt who climbed the tower to capture these images.
