A photographic competition attracted over 100 entries and the winners images celebrate Hunstanton and its beautiful sunsets.
Hunstanton Webcams has donated £400 to the RNLI following the successful launch of its first-ever charity calendar, showcasing stunning photography of the West Norfolk town while raising funds for the vital lifesaving service.
“We received over 100 entries and, as a result, produced two different calendars: one generic version and another dedicated to Hunstanton’s famous sunsets,” said Glen Piggott, who runs Hunstanton Webcams. “The 24 winning photos were handpicked by judges in a completely anonymous selection process and chosen solely for their outstanding photographic quality.”
Glen set up Hunstanton Webcams during the Covid lockdown, when people were unable to visit the resort. “If people couldn’t come to the beach, then the beach could come to them,” he said. While the website now boasts five live webcams, the original one, located on the Waterside Bar, remains the most popular.

He added that while people log in from around the UK and further afield to watch Hunstanton’s famous sunsets and waves crashing onto the promenade, the sinkhole which appeared in early February led to a spike in page views.

Following the success of the 2026 calendars, entries are now open for the 2027 edition,
inviting both locals and visitors to submit their most beautiful, atmospheric or iconic images of Hunstanton throughout the year. From dramatic sunsets and energetic wildlife to well-loved landmarks, the calendar aims to celebrate the community’s connection to this unique stretch of Norfolk coastline.
Glen added: “We’re looking for the moments that truly define Hunstanton across the seasons - whether it’s the frosty cliffs in January, daffodils bursting in the Esplanade Gardens in March, families enjoying ice cream on The Green in July, the excitement of the Soap Box Derby in September, or the breathtaking fireworks along the cliff tops in November.”
Hunstanton and Heacham Community First Responders has been named as the nominated charity for the 2027 calendar. The volunteer team, trained by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, attends potentially life-threatening 999 emergencies in the critical minutes before an ambulance crew arrives.
“We’re delighted to have been chosen as this year’s charity partner,” said Ben Plunkett, Group Coordinator. “Every pound raised helps us invest in vital equipment and directly supports the community we serve.”
Selected winners will not only see their photographs featured in the calendar but will also receive a complimentary copy and full credit for their work. The competition is open to amateur photographers of all ages and abilities, with entries submitted online via the official form at https://hunstanton.webcam/calendar-competition.
The deadline for entries is Sunday, 3 May 2026.
The finished calendars will be launched during this year’s Hunstanton Carnival weekend in June and will be available to purchase on the Hunstanton Webcams website and at Witley Press on Greevegate in Hunstanton.
