Norfolk County Council are warning residents about text messages appearing to be from Paypal, claiming that their account access has been limited. The message goes on to ask the recipient to ‘confirm their identity’ via an embedded link.
These texts are not genuine and are not connected with PayPal in any way; they have been designed to appear within existing text message streams from PayPal to try to add to its authenticity.
If you receive this or a similar text message you should delete it without clicking on any links.
You can report contacts you think are scam to the Citizens Advice consumer helpline via their online reporting form or telephone 03454 04 05 06.
