Cllr Simon Ring, Cabinet member for Tourism, Events and Marketing, said: “It’s good to see that 78 people, and a few dogs, joined in the gentle 3 mile walk that started at St Edmund’s Chapel Ruins, near the Old Lighthouse at 10.30am. The weather was good and the sociable walk took in many beautiful parts of the town.

“This was a wonderful way to see in the new year and is the first of many events planned for Hunstanton in 2024. We have new events planned this year including walking football, group tai chi, beat the tide, flower arranging and a classic car event. Also we have returning favourites like the Battle of the Bands and Soap Box Derby back in its rightful place in September to wrap up the summer events season for west Norfolk.”

Roger Partridge, Events Coordinator at the Borough Council said: “The New Year’s Day walk was a great success - 78 were on it and a good number of them finished up at Tim’s Cliff Top Café so that was good too.

“Many of them said they had seen the event in the Town & Around, so thanks for your help.”
