Baaaaa-rilliant! Spring is almost here!

Snettisham Park welcomes these beautiful new lambs, and describe this time of year as 'magic'

I meet Issy, one of the farm workers, as she's busy bottle feeding a week old lamb.

"It is just phenomenal, you just get to see the little ones jumping about, and it's just magic.  It is hard work, these rely on you, I'm here mornings, during the day and then late at night I come and feed them too."

A big commitment she tells me, but she agrees it's equally an amazing time of year.

Trevor Walters, who's the manager of Snettisham Park, agrees this time of year is 'magic'.

"The only reason I am in farming, is I love new life - this time of year signals spring is coming and so does the birth of new born baby lambs."

I comment it must be a busy and tiring time of year too, "Quite honestly I look forward to lambing because it gives you that bit of excitement that you don't get the rest of the year."

The lambs may take centre stage, but there're plenty of other new additions - including calves and piglets.

Coleen Walters, who also runs the farm, says, "After the cold, wet long winter it's the first sign that spring is on the way, how lovely just to see new life start to appear and it just brings joy to everybody, it brings the countryside back to life."

Trevor tells me, "It's too early for bottle feeding lambs by the public, but they can come and see and help us feed a few baby lambs."

It's official then - spring is almost here.  What an absolute joy it's been meeting these new arrivals!
