Awash with Poppies

Awash with Poppies

The Snettisham Branch of the Royal British Legion celebrated its 100th anniversary in April this year.

As part of the Centenary celebrations, the Poppy Appeal, under June Barrett's excellent organisation, has created an enormous poppy installation on the archway entrance leading into the magnificent St Mary's Church in Snettisham. Everyone in the village, from the youngest to the oldest, came together to create the poppies that form this stunning display.

Everyone has the opportunity to sponsor a poppy in memory of a loved one and write a message on a laminated card, which is then attached to the giant nets of poppies. Every contribution made goes towards the Snettisham Poppy appeal, a testament to our collective commitment to this cause.

The Snettisham Girlguiding and Scout groups helped make many poppies in all shapes and sizes, which were included in the amazing display at St Mary's Church from the end of October until mid-November.

A special thank you to Rev. Dan Tansey for the use of St Mary's Church.
